I’ve always found it fascinating how one thought triggers another and your mind dredges up a past experience. Is it because you need to become aware of it again for a reason, or is it a random thought?
It happened again this morning, as I was having my morning tea while sitting by the window looking out at the treetops and clouds. And this is what I was reminded of:
I had just finished taking the Silva classes (this was in the middle 70’s). I met some interesting people. One woman, Alice had just started a Sunday evening lecture series to introduce people to the local psychics, crystal ball gazers, tealeaf readers, mediums’ etc. She had contacted a famous psychic from out of state to hold a series of lectures. Because I had several spare rooms while my sons were off at college I welcomed the psychic as my houseguest. Another opportunity for me to spend time with an interesting person.
The psychic constantly demonstrated her ability by picking up other people’s thoughts and shared her impressions with me. Was she on target or was she trying to impress me? She shared her past experiences on how she solved crimes, and found missing children when the police came to her for assistance. I was fascinated as I listened to her successful track record.
Sunday evening I took her to the meeting place where she would be giving a lecture. As we entered the hall, people were already seated. She looked around for a moment. I sensed she had picked up on something that was agitating to her. She furled her brows as we walked up to the front of the room. When we sat down she turned to me and asked, “Do you know the man seated on the aisle seat? He is the one with the silver-rimmed glasses.” I turned to look and I did not recognize him as one of the people that attended the regular Sunday evening sessions. “He is going to burn his place of business for the insurance money,” she softly whispered. “How do you know that?” I asked. “I smelled smoke as we passed him.” she responded. “Find out who he is. When he sets his place on fire let me know; I’m keeping a record of my correct predictions she explained.
“Oh no,” I gasped. “When we sense something that would be destructive or jeopardize anyone’s safety we must do everything to avoid or stop it.”
“What do you mean?” She looked as if she was weighing my response. “We telepathically send a message to the person reminding him that there may be repercussions if he carries out a deed that may cause harm to someone. I’ll explain later,” I suggested, as the meeting was about to begin.
Driving home that evening I explained to the psychic what happened while I worked with Jose during his classes, which he taught in Dallas. One of the students in class was the manager of a fast food restaurant. That Sunday night, after class, the manager went directly to his place of business to count his weekend receipts for a Monday deposit (This was a time when places closed at 10 p.m.)
He found his office safe had been pried open and was empty. He called the man he had left in charge and was told that he had indeed locked the safe. In fact, another employee had been present when they closed. Next, he called me in a panic and requested I call Jose immediately and ask him who stole the money.
“Boy, if he can tell me who did it, I’ll get the police and have the person arrested. Think of all the publicity Jose will get.”
“I’m pretty sure I know who the thief is,” he told me when I asked if he had any idea who he thought it might be.
“I hired a cook two weeks ago and for some reason I don’t trust him. I’ll bet that he is the one who stole the money.”
I contacted Jose and told him what had happened. Jose’s solution to everything that came up while I worked with him always surprised me.
“We don’t need to prove we are psychics, nor do we need any publicity. We need to help right a wrong for this situation. Get in touch with your Cottage Group and tell them to project this to the thief: ‘The money you took does not rightfully belong to you. Please return it.’ I, too, will be projecting for its return,” he assured me.
I had an agreement with the students that attended the weekly Cottage Group sessions that whenever there was an emergency we would contact each other for support. The twenty or more people would send healing energy or telepathic messages if necessary. I got busy on the telephone and called three people. They in turn called others until everyone of the group was contacted. I then called the manager and told him what Jose suggested. I also told him to mentally contact the thief and ask him to return the money. He sounded disappointed, but promised he would not call the police until the following morning.
Monday morning shortly after 8 a.m., I had the call that made my day. It was the manager, “Mrs. Hadsell, I just arrived to open the store. I always use the back entrance, and when I opened the screen door two brown paper sacks full of money were between the doors. The amount of money was more than what we usually take in on weekends. How did Jose know that this would happen?”
“You are going to have to ask him when he comes to teach the next class.”
When we hung up, I contacted Jose and the Cottage Group to tell them the good news. The manager still thought the cook was the thief. However, the cook was at his shift the same morning and acted as if nothing happened. Our project was to have the money returned, and it was accomplished.
Why am I telling you this story that happened so many years ago?
Perhaps it is because I remember the psychic’s expression when I related this incident to her. She came instantly wide-awake; like some sixth sense brought her fully alert. Suddenly the first birth pangs of the idea twinged in her brain and she shook her head in agreement.
“Why did I never realize that I should telepathically send thoughts of encouragement, or offering a solution when I picked up thoughts of someone’s intention of doing harm? I can see why Jose is such a wise person and why you speak so highly of him.”
HEY! I just got the answer why I felt the need to share this story with you this morning…because we all need to be reminded that when we see, witness or are told about someone or something that is negative we should not give it any more negative energy. Send out positive energy for a positive solution.
Did you know that the more positive your thoughts are the more insightful you will become. A calm, content feeling will surface when you realize what life in the physical is all about. You will find yourself becoming more of an observer and your understanding of people will take on a new perspective. It will also remind us that we are all here to learn about ourselves as we evolve. We are all ‘Gods in the making’ as the saying goes.

This story is so very true! I learned this many years ago and use it daily on everything and everyone. You will be surprised how things turn around. When my husband lost his job out of the blue, I kept thinking that "this is a very good thing" and "we'll be shown what to do" and pretty soon we were presented with a wonderful business opportunity that has been not only lucrative but also fun! As a hypnotherapist I found out a long time ago that our lives follow our most predominate thought. So we all have choices on what type of life we want. Be very conscious of your thoughts and change them to what you want and watch the magic that happens! good luck.

Wonderful story! This is my life work. I wonder what would happen if everyone practiced this same process after watching the news or give up watching "news" entirely?
We are NOT "gods" in the making. Two thousand years ago, the one and only God died for us all, and would have died and purchased my salvation had I been the only human being on earth. God's Word is either the truth, or a blatant lie. He warns of "soothsayers" (psychics) and others who claim to have "telepathic" powers. I truly don't care whether or not you "publish" my e-mail address, as the truth is simply the truth, and neither the Lord or His Word has ever failed me. In fact, I have an incredible peace because of Him. My faith and trust rests in Him; not in mankind, and when I pass from this earth, I know, that I know, that I know! EXACTLY where I'm going, and hope and pray that MY message of TRUTH reaches someone.
I am indeed "an overcomer". All power and all that is good comes ONLY from the Lord. My answer came while I was alone on my deck behind my house one morning at 5 a.m.
Needless to say, it came from a simple prayer when I turned everything over to God. Positive thoughts are wonderful, so I don't disagree with that, but putting all of your trust in people's "so called" powers (without God) leads to destruction.

Dear Hellen; the reason why people experience this kind of negative situations like being kidnapped or steled (this has happened to my mother one month ago)is becuase of having negative thoughts?
Since I am studying the Law of Attraction I sometimes feel fearfull, overwhelmed of all the negative siuations I can create becuase of myself. Control my thoughts and being positive all the time is a difficult task for me and besides make me fell more depressed and fearfull.

Enjoyed your story. amazing at some point in my life I too were able to read people after a few emotional let downs in my life, I became bitter, and now I find my "negitive"thoughts are in play I wish it, and it happens.I call them misfortunes. After about 20 incidents I began wishing good fortune on those. But it's not as much fun as being deiviate. But it still worked, I found I just wasn't as satified..Weird ahh.

We shold always thank good thoughts and try to overcome the bad ones even when things are going wrong. God is love and will help us to overcome this and we can all share this thought patten, it will make the World a better place. I did a similar thing recently with the two American journalists who were being held in North Korea. I just pictured them safe and sound and walking down the plane steps into the arms of their family. That is exactly what happened. It was wonderful to witness it on television exactly as I pictured it in my mind. Thank you for your emails - I always find them very uplifting.
So sensible, so compassionate, so kind. Makes one wish one (me) had met Mr. Silva, or had him as a father or uncle!

Last night was a night of continuous prayer for everyone i have ever met and every face I asked for blessing for each of them. I recall doing this at another time but this was more pronounced in that even when I had awakened to go to the bathroom the prayer resumed asking for help for those that was hungry and jobs for those who did not have one and for doors to open for opportunities for those seeking and plain answers to questions asked by children and adults alike. When I got up this morning I felt refreshed and said AMEN. Positive thoughts is a desire each of us can exhibit for any one at any time.
What a great reminder of the importance to be positive, to hold positive thoughts for others, and to be a source of good intentions in the world. It's also so important to remove our judgments of what we think is right and wrong because they can get in the way of our positive energy flow. Many blessings to you!

This is a most interesting way to deal with a solution to someone contemplating harm; however, there was a group of you who sent this positive thought to this man. Could this idea work as well if you are the only one in your entourage who believes that you can send telepathic thoughts to others?
I know of a father who took sexual advantage of his daughter who was drunk because her mother had died and she could not deal with it. His daughter was doubly devastated after this incident. He refuses to admit he did anything wrong. Could I use this method somehow? What should I say?

Tracy, it saddens me when people who profess faith show that so much of it is blind. Jesus was not God the Father. Jesus WAS our first example of a human, with God, reaching his full potential. Jesus himself quoted the scriptures that say, "Ye are gods," (John 10:34) and Jesus stated that he didn't have all of the knowledge (Mark 13:32) or the authority (Matt. 20:23) of the Father. Jesus had no desire for people to idolize him as they do today, for he denied even being good (Luke 18:19). God the Father gave us power, authority, dominion, and potential, and for most of humanity's history we have been despising that birthright. Jesus took it up to give to others, doing the will of the Father, and led others to do the same. I see no one here blaspheming God or Jesus, which would be forgivable even if they were (Matt. 12:31-32); nor do I see anyone blaspheming the Holy Spirit (which I believe to be goodness, the name [authority, character] of God that is not to be taken in vain).

What is it about sending out positive energy through writing that gets "religious people" wanting to go all negative? It never fails. So maybe Tracy needs to have everyone who reads your story and the comments remembering to send her some positive thoughts. Seeing as nobody here is even hinting about unseen powers coming from anywhere but God. She's even saying so although it's a strange way to go about being positive.

A wonderful, uplifting and inspiring story Helene. A question now arises. Can we each, acting alone (not participating in a group) also help others in need? What if the perceived problem and people involved is huge?
For example, I am particularly struck by the current situation in America, whereby the great pharmaceuticals are reportedly doing great harm to the people of your country by creating and selling medications and treatments that are known to carry harmful effects and are so outrageously expensive that many people either cannot afford them anyway or are financially ruined when they use these in good faith and in desperation.
I have also read that although many people have health insurance, they are often shocked and appalled to find that it does not cover or even sometimes include, the costs of the treatment/s they require. Some of these people have lost their homes as a result. and are also left with severe ongoing health difficulties without any hope of any outside assistance.
This is truly a black situation on many fronts of responsibility. The pharmaceuticals, the insurance companies, sometimes even the medical community are involved in this ill-treatment of the public. I will qualify that by saying that it is probable and possible that many individuals involved in these activities are blissfully ignorant of what they are involved with. Many of the medical community for example have been trained to trust in the treatments they are prescribing.
I am not black balling all medications for in certain circumstances they can help a person to recover sufficiently that they are then able to educate themselves so as not to contract the illness, disease, etc that has inflicted them. And I do believe that many of those involved in the medical community are working with the highest of intentions.
Last but not least, the people themselves have a great need to be educated as to what food, thought and activities have a positive affect on their health and which do not.
The final responsibility for personal health then becomes that of each and every person, with perhaps the exception of those who are injured in serious accidents. We all need to take responsibility and to address our own personal addictions and weaknesses and to not be so innocently trusting of the advertising and hype put out in various forms of media.
Finally, I am not an American and do not live in the USA yet I have much concern over what I see occurring against and around President Obama in opposition to his current Health Reforms. Is there anything your group can do to help in this situation? The president needs help and protection and wrong doers need to be persuaded of the damage and massive, massive hurt/s they are inflicting upon their own peoples as well as this man, Barack Obama.
Prayers are needed for all on this planet earth and I ask that we each do what we can every day by sending out love, light and peace and always to be aware of how our thoughts, words and deeds may be affecting others.
Helene, your comments on this blog and your suggestions, will be of great interest to me, as I hope that one day we can all live in a better world than the one we are currently experiencing.

I've always been fascinated by the topics such as the subconscious mind and intuition and the past two years I've been learning more about the energy 'dance'. Such a wonderful story, and just what I needed to hear. For as long as I can remember my family has had the worst luck in everything we do, to the point of wondering if we are cursed. From finances to health and love. I believe in positive thoughts, and I try to use positive thinking every day. It has gotten harder and harder to do over these past few years and now, I am not so sure I can think positive anymore. I am going to try it again, and please if anyone does read this, think positive for me, as I will be for you!

When we are down we really can be effect of things but when we are up there isn't anything we cannot do if we set our minds to doing it. Thanks Helene, It is really an inspiring story, it's also true that when we are in a negative situation, we tend to focus in the negative consecuences and thus will give it more strenght.
My last 18 months has been a series of bad experiencies, one after one, I've been dealing with a daily battle of positive thoughts against the negatives ones, it's really a real war constantly.
I'm recruiting my positive soldiers from everything I have in my life, appreciating all the beauty and good things I do have, this overpower the negative enemies.
The war still here, but I know at the end, we the positives, will win.

Your books and lessons have led me to reading many similar type of books which have made life so much more meaningful and easier. That's what I try to do since so many doctors only want to hand out more prescriptions. Also Jesus might have meant the same thing: be more positive- have a little faith! Makes sense doesn't it? It is very true, that if you change your thoughts from negative to happier thoughts, it does work!!! I too live on a limited income. Just last month I wasn't sure if I would have enough money at the end of the month, if 1 more check was cashed there would've been no money in my checking. I kept a positive attitude, I knew it would be alright, I believed it. It worked!!! I know positive thoughts do work we just have to remember to use it more often and believe!! I'm sending positive thoughts your way Bettye. Just keep saying, "I'm going to be alright, I'll get through this." Change your thoughts to positive thinking, you are needed. You just don't know how. Every thing that you say is true and this helps you a lot. But when you are around negative people it is hard to sense these things. For the negativaty that you are around the less your senses works.
What a wonderful story. I really beleive in this philosophy and try to live it. The Universe has given my husband and I another opportunity to practise , but this time it is harder. Last week, a cougar killed our deloved pet dog we had for 9 years, and we are devestated as you can well imagine and I keep trying to see the "pony is this pile of manure" and honestly beieve there are no accidents.
I have been have an immense amount of negative energy in my life recently. My relationship with my husband and one of my sons has been so horrible that this morning I was actually considering filing for divorce. I spent several hours in the wee hours this morning praying to God for guidance in what to do. I have not read my email for weeks, and I suddenly felt drawn to do so. I almost just deleted everything so I didn't have to plow through 151 emails, but something about the subject line of this page's thread caught my eye. I know now what to do. I had forgotten these simple but true principles, and I know God led me to find the answers here. I want you to know how incredibly grateful I am to you for posting these messages free of charge. In this day and age we come to expect that everyone is "in it for a buck", and I realize how bitter I have become. It will be a focused challenge to return to my native cheery and positive disposition, but when I do, I give all the credit to God for leading me here, and to Helene and Kate for this message of peace, truth and love.
